Square Enix has their fingerprints all over the video game industry and beyond this year. They’ve got all sorts of projects lined up already. This includes confirmed titles such as Outriders, Final Fantasy XVI, and Final Fantasy VII Remake: Intergrade, as well as a remake in Legend of Mana. Apparently, Square Enix isn’t just finished yet. This is after a recent announcement from Forever Entertainment, a polish video game development studio and publishing company. In the said statement, they confirmed that they are set to produce several Square Enix remakes and launch all the said titles under a single brand.
What Square Enix Remakes Should We Expect To See?
Right now, it remains unclear exactly just what Square Enix remakes are being handled by Forever Entertainment. We know for sure that it’s neither one of the titles we’ve already mentioned. We also know that Forever Entertainment is currently working on a remake of their own with Panzer Dragoon 2 Zwei set to release in a couple of months. With that said, it’ll be difficult for us to pinpoint what remakes we should expect to see from Forever Entertainment. Of course, that won’t stop us from speculating and it definitely hasn’t stopped fans from naming the numerous franchises that Square Enix have locked away in their coffers. This includes, among others, classic titles such as Parasite Eve and Chrono Trigger. But, do bear in mind that Forever Entertainment is not a huge company. Given the smaller size of Forever Entertainment, we probably shouldn’t expect Square Enix to give away some of their more well-known IPs to the polish company. This is especially since they have their own subsidiaries that are capable of handling such projects themselves. Another point of interest here is that numerous Square Enix remakes will be released under the same brand. This points out the possibility that the said remakes will be that of games belonging under the same franchise or series. Although there is still the possibility of Square Enix creating a separate brand wherein all of their future remakes will fall into. If it is the former, a multi-title series like Parasite Eve, Star Ocean, and SaGa, among others, are certainly good bets to be remade. Hopefully, we’ll find out more about this partnership and which titles are included soon enough.
