Ubisoft+ is a PC-exclusive service that gives its subscribers access to the French publisher’s extensive catalog of video games as well as the most expensive editions of upcoming games at launch. It is not the largest subscription service on the PC, but it does have its fair share of fans. Recently, Ubisoft “partnered” with Sony to include “Ubisoft Classics”, which is a list of its best-selling games, to the PS Plus Extra and Premium. At the same time, Ubisoft promised to bring Ubisoft+ to the PlayStation “in the future.” Now, it appears that Ubisoft is playing both sides. Twitter user @Alumia_Italia, a data miner with a solid reputation for leaking privy info based on Xbox’s backend, recently revealed finding several Ubisoft+ assets during a cyber sleuthing adventure.

— Aggiornamenti Lumia (@ALumia_Italia) August 21, 2022 It’s not easy to make sense of how the current video game subscriptions work and which platforms they are available on. The gist here, at least, in the context of this article, is that Xbox could be getting Ubisoft+ soon. Precedence suggests that Microsoft will find a way to bundle Ubisoft+ with the Game Pass Ultimate sub. This would give subscribers access to a smorgasbord of content, from dozens of Assassin’s Creed games, to incoming Ubisoft games like Skull & Bones, among several others. It’s worth noting that Game Pass Ultimate already has EA Play. If you add Ubisoft+ into the mix, PlayStation will have to respond. This is great for us consumers. If anything, this means that we won’t have to worry about getting our money’s worth spending on PS Plus Premium and Game Pass Ultimate. If the rumors are true, Microsoft could announce the Ubisoft+ access at Gamescom 2022 this week. Microsoft already confirmed its presence in Cologne, Germany, a few weeks back. Gamescom 2022 is looking more and more like one of the biggest video game events we’ve had in years. Mind you, it’s not just because it’s the first one to have in-person attendance. Even if Sony isn’t going to be around for the festivities, other companies will be there. This includes the likes of Ubisoft, Unknown Worlds, Kojima Productions, THQ Nordic, and, quite possibly, CD Projekt RED.
